This lot offers you a Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action rifle chambered for .25-20 Winchester Center Fire (WCF). The rifle was designed by John Browning, and manufactured in model year 1908. The Mod. 92 was a smaller and lighter version of the large-frame Model 1886, and replaced the renowned Model 1873 as the companies lever-action chambered for pistol caliber's. This example utilizes a 20" full round barrel, distance adjustable rear flip up sight, paired with a blade front sight, and gorgeous walnut fixtures, contrasting the deep aged blue finish. The rifle is marked with correct roll-stampings, reading; "Model 1892 - WINCHESTER - TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S.PAT.OFF" on the upper-tang, Serial Number "738649" on the lower of the receiver, ".25-20 WCF" on the upper of the barrel, behind the rear sight, and "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. - NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED OCTOBER 14. 1884" on the upper of the barrel. The rifle shows good condition overall, with a even plum purple patina forming on the blue'd finish, and healthy walnut fixtures. The mechanical condition of the rifle is good overall, with a tight action, and a fair bore, showing strong rifling with some darkness and pitting. The carbine was manufactured in 1913, and qualifies as a Curio & Relic Long Gun, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check. Serial Number: 738649.
