Nimschke Signed and Engraved Winchester Model 1866 Lever Action Saddlering Carbine, #75849, .44 CF cal., 20'' barrel, brass frame, unadorned walnut stock and handguard, finely engraved with Germanic scrolls and animal heads. In addition, many of Nimschke's most popular motifs are represented on this Carbine, including entwining lines, twist and chain motifs, stars, dots, wavy lines and zigzags, dragon and dog heads. Mfg'd in 1871. Condition is very good with light general wear, moderate patination to frame, and minor knackering. Upper tang of buttplate is lightly adorned as well as bottom of lifter. Initials ''LDN'' are in ovoid just behind trigger underneath lever. Stock shows dings, dents, scuffs and staining. Barrel shows approx. 30% toning blue; barrel address remains mostly legible. Action functions well, bore is good. Est.: $25,000-$40,000.
