Offered in this lot is a set of World War 2 era pigskin lobster claw, gauntlets. The gloves show a supple pigskin outer, with a curly sheepswool interior liner. The gloves can be worn in one of two ways - rolled-up, with the cuff just covering the wrist, or rolled out, with a long gauntlet. One glove is an A-9, while the other is an A9-A, the tag of the A-9 glove reads "Type A-9 - Drawing NO. 3403414 - A.C. Order NO. ... - Size Medium - Property Air Force US Army". The gloves would have likely been worn by a gunner on a bomber plane. The gloves show good, usable condition - there is some obvious wear from usage. Each glove is a size medium, and measures approximately 10 1/2" long from the end of the cuff to the tip of the finger, and 7" wide at the gauntlet, when the cuffs are rolled up.
