Very Rare Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver with Navy Size Grips and Low Serial Number
Made in 1860, this revolver features a smooth rebated cylinder, silver plated brass grip frame, Hartford address, and Navy size grips, an arrangement only found on approximately 55 revolvers, all within the first 100 produced. Cut-down German silver blade front sight, with a hammer notch rear sight. Matching serial numbers except cylinder which appears unfinished, and the grips which are unnumbered. The barrel address is mostly illegible, traces of the scene remain on the cylinder, and the frame is marked "COLTS/ PATENT". The trigger guard and backstrap are silver finished brass, with smooth one piece walnut grips.
