Union Orders. Group of seven documents, Oct. 1862 to Apr. 1865: five partly printed, with requisitions for Enfield rifles, cavalry supplies, rifle slings, bayonet scabbards, cartridges, belts, clothing, etc. From Hilton Head, S.C., Decatur, Ala., and in the field. Signed by Hickenlooper, as Lt. Col., before appointment as General, Jacob Antrim (captured by Gen. Forrest), et al. Ink rather light on preceding. With General Order no. 109, Aug. 13, 1863, from H.Q., 16th Army Corps, Memphis, a full page, manuscript, listing six orders to inspect and return unserviceable equipment, per Maj. Gen. Hurlbut's directions. Fine. Letter from Gen. Sickles scolding Capt. MacArthur for sending in too many requisitions. Written as an A.L.S. by his adjutant James Rusling, 2 pp. "...He (Sickles) thinks that if you continue sending them he will not approve any...You have not yet sent for those balls and chains and handcuffs. Yours is the only brigade that has not attended to it. Do without delay...." Unintentional humor. Signed by Capt. Rusling. Very fine.
