US socket bayonet for .69 caliber musket with original scabbard. Blade approx. 18”, 21” overall. No US
markings, stamped “C&C” or “C&G”. Leather frog stamped Watertown arsenal, 1864. Leather body with
brass rivets and tip. Two rivets missing from hangar, otherwise good, some slight scuffs, well marked.
Blade shows most of its arsenal bright polish, just some beginning erosion. Hard to find with scabbard.
For model 1842 and other Civil War used .69 caliber muskets. Est: $500 - $1,000 NOTE: has a small "m"
marked on the blade/socket that signifies it is for a Berdan.
