Standard marking on the 1836 dated lock plate with the upper tang also dated 1836. Belgian style percussion conversion. Barrel at the breech has "US / PW / P" proofs. Smooth stock with a script cartouche on the left flat and a flat buttplate. Complete with a socket bayonet.

Condition: Fine as period plated. The metal surfaces have been tin plated and retain heavy amounts of a blistering and flaking protective coating. The freshened stock is fine with some minor dings and scratches (more prevalent on the buttstock). The bayonet has a mottled gray patina with some minor pitting. Mechanically excellent.
