U.S. Model 1841 Naval Cutlass by N.P. Ames, approx. 27” overall with blade dated “1846”. This cutlass is in overall good condition showing a heavy dark patina on the iron 21” blade and the standard brass fish scale grip with brass “C”guard and eagle stamped pommel; inspector marks on either side of the tear drop portion of the guard and the number “6” stamped on the inside of the “C” guard (likely a rack number).
