You are bidding on a decommissioned federal highway sign. U.S. Highway 10 is an east-west highway that was formed in 1925. It originally ran from Detroit, MI, to Seattle, WA. On its way to Seattle, the highway ran through Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, and on into Washington. In the 1980's and early 1990's, the completion of Interstates 90 and 94 replaced Highway 10 in most of North Dakota and westward. As an interesting aside, the Pintler Scenic route, through Phillipsburg and Anaconda in Montana, was a Highway 10 Alternate Route before Highway 10 was decommissioned in Montana in 1986. This Highway sign may be a 1960's version, before they were changed slightly in 1971. The sign measures 24" x 24"; The wood sign shows black numerals on a white shield on a black background. The sign is in good overall condition.
