Manufactured in the last block of Colt pistols in 1942. Fixed sights, with the two line, two block address/patent marking with the Rampant Colt in the center on the left side of the slide and "P" on top ahead of the rear sight. The left side of the frame is marked with the boxed "W.B." inspection stamp behind the trigger, "P" just below the magazine release and the left upper front of the trigger guard is marked with the triangle "VP" proof with "23" on the right side. The right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY / No 855097" and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY". Checkered wide spur hammer, trigger, replacement slide stop, thumb safety and arched mainspring housing. Blue unmarked magazine and fitted with brown plastic checkered grips and lanyard ring on the heel. Complete with a modern black leather holster ink marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on the back, a War Department Basic Field Manual for the Model 1911 and 1911A1 pistol, and a black 22" x 7 1/2" zipper pouch.

Condition: Fine. The pistol retains 75% thinning original parkerized finish with high edge wear, wear on the forward portion of the slide from normal usage and scattered small areas that have faded to a smooth silver gray patina. The grips are very good with minor scratches and dings on the bottoms and very crisp checkering. The markings remain crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The holster and pouch are near new and the manual is very good.
