Two Sabers with Scabbards
1) U.S. Ames Model 1860 Cavalry Sabre, 35" double fuller blade, with "US/ GWC/ 1864" on the right ricasso and the Ames scroll on the reverse. Brass 2-branch guard, with a wire wrapped leather grip and "G.K.C." stamped on the helmet pommel. With a steel scabbard, unmarked. 2) 1840 pattern mounted artillery sabre, 31 3/4" single fuller blade, with "1841" on the left ricasso and "US" on the reverse. Brass guard, with "394" ahead of the blade, "58" on the left side, leather grip and "129" on the pommel. With a steel scabbard, marked "A.3D.K." on the drag.

Condition: 1) Good, with a small amount of pitting on the blade, mild spotting and scattered handling marks overall. The leather is cracking, and the brass shows a mixed patina. 2) Good, with dings and mild wear on the blade. The wire is absent from the grip, and dents are present on the guard and scabbard.
