Turkish or mid-eastern 19th century flintlock horseman's pistol with ornate metal overlay and inlaid with coral and turquoise gemstones. The pistol measures 19", the barrel measures 12-1/2" and is approximately.69 cal. The wood stock is covered in hand hammered silver colored sheet metal, with gold gilt and some engraving and decorations. The rear portion of the stock shows many small stones inlaid into bezels, which arecharacteristic of the 19th century; about 90% of the turquoise and coral remain, less than 10% are missing. The lock and barrel are good quality and show some minor pitting and erosion and light cleaning. The condition is good overall for its age. Est.: $900-$1,800
