This lot offers a very fine Frontier Saddlery hand tooled saddle. It was a Crow Fair trophy saddle, won for team roping at the Whiteman Arena. The Crow Fair was created in 1904 by an Indian government agent to bring the Crow Tribe of Indians into modern society. The saddle was made by Frontier Saddlery of Flat Rock, Alabama. Frontier has been building saddles in Alabama since 1987. These saddles are “hand carved”, “hand tooled”, and “hand stamped”. This particular saddle dates to 1995. It features a sheepskin underbelly, conchos, as well as basket weave pattern tooled onto the skirt, jockeys, and pommel. The fenders are stamped with "Champion Team Roper-Whiteman Arena-1995". The strap holder is stamped "Frontier Saddlery-Flat Rock-428". The saddle is further accented by the original horse hair front chinch, chromed rigging dees, and wood & tin wrapped stirrups. This saddle has a 15.25" seat, and is in good condition.
