In it, a Japanese military commander becomes lost in the woods after a major victory. He comes across a mysterious woman who predicts he will one day become emperor. Kurosawa cast his favorite actor, Toshiro Mifune, in the lead role, here on the poster in a beautifully rendered pose. Kurosawa is truly one of the masters of the cinema, investing more style and intelligence into his productions than most directors could ever dream of. Original Japanese posters for his films are almost unheard of in this grade due to being shown so consistently in the theatres. Rolled.
