Lot of 3 weavings with swastika motifs.
a) Black, white and gray double diamond design, with crosses and arrows, with two central brown swastikas. Condition: staining, corner tassels added, selvage damage. 49" x 71".
b) Natural colors with five swastika elements amongst serrated diamonds, flanked by a diamond border. Condition: damage to the short edges, two 1/2" holes in the white field, staining throughout. 44" x 63".
c) White, red, gray and black. A central geometric design with a swastika on either end, and groups of four diamonds along the edges. Condition: staining throughout, some damage along the short edges. 39" x 53".
Often referred to as “rolling logs" or "whirling logs", the swastika in Navajo culture can denote abundance, prosperity, healing and luck.
