The lot features a Teton Sioux Native American Indian beaded knife sheath with 19th century trade knife. The trade knife shows a large bowie pattern blade with hardwood grips having iron rivets and a double bar cross inlay with copper tacks on both sides. The knife is from the second to third quarter of the 19th century. The sheath shows a supple Indian tanned hide construction with long fringe edge having glass trade seed beads in semi-transparent greasy yellow, sky blue, chalk white, navy blue, and semi-transparent red. The sheath shows a pictorial Buffalo symbol along the bottom with geometric design throughout. The early knife and 20th century sheath make a fine pair. The knife is 13.75"L overall with a 8.25"L blade. Sheath is 22.5"L with strap and drop x 7.5"W with fringe.
