Ten Commandments Nefretiri (Anne Baxter) Royal Chair
An astonishing film treasure. This is the actual screen used Princess Nefretiri Throne from Cecil B. DeMille's masterwork, the epic classic "The Ten Commandments" (1956). This is the iconic royal Palace Empire Throne that Anne Baxter, as the Throne Princess Nefretiri, sits on in two of the most unforgettable scenes. It is seen both when the young Moses (Charlton Heston) enters the palace claiming victory in a war with the Nubians of Ethiopia, and then again when Moses is brought back to the palace in chains and sentenced to death by King Sethi (Cedric Hardwicke). Her Throne is extremely prevalent in both of these key scenes, especially when she leaps out of it to plead with the King to spare Moses' life. There are very few iconic pieces of furniture in the film. This is one of the most sought after pieces of furniture of all props/furniture in this classic film. The Throne is crafted in exquisite gold tinged metals and rare woods with inlaid hand carved hieroglyphs. It also has the official underchair markings from Paramount Pictures. This stunning famous Throne also comes with a Letter of Provenance from the current owner who inherited this throne from a well known Hollywood Aluminary's estate in California in 1983 along with Bithiah's Throne (a separate lot in this auction). This is an oversized item. Additional shipping charges required. The original shipping crate is available for use to ship to the winning bidder. (Throne is approx 38"x19.5"x20"). This item has been authenticated and marked with new technology by MovieProps DNA to prevent against fraud and counterfeiting. This DNA sequence is so secure it is admissible in a court of law.?? 2) Archival Microchip Encrypted Tag - a patented, acid-free, 1"x 3" tag with an encrypted microchip is placed onto the Certificate of Authenticity. The microchip contained within the tag contains all of the pertinent information about the prop or costume. The tag is tamper proof and the microchip is encrypted, making it impossible to duplicate.? 3) The certificate also has the 9-digit DNA invisible ink mark which must match the 9-digit invisible ink mark on the prop. This will ensure that it is a genuine prop issued by Premiere Props and authenticated by MPDNA.
