U.S. Military contracted breechloading trapdoor single shot rifle chambered in .45-70. Features a blued 32.75" tapered barrel, two barrel bands, blade front sight, Buffington rear adjustable sight, sling swivels, ramrod, case hardened receiver, serrated trigger, checkered hammer spur, and one piece walnut shoulder stock with metal buttplate. Rifle bears all correct markings with "A14", circled "P", and "SWP / 1889" cartouches on stock for Samuel W. Porter. Barrel retains 80% bluing with light scattered surface rust emerging, receiver shows trace colors mixed with patina, and lock & hammer are bare metal mixed with patina. Action is sound, bore is excellent, and wood stock is fine with less than average blemishes. Condition is excellent as antique. ***Antique Firearm***
