A development of the 1938 model 50mm Company Mortar, using a simplified version of the 38's gas port range adjustment and a bipod with integral traverse function. Overall length is 29 inches from muzzle to baseplate, with the bipod marked with the serial number over "1940r" on the right side and "52-M-822-W" on the left, with knob adjustable traverse on the left, elevation and balance controls mounted between the legs, and a "MNM-44/ NA22215" marked optic. The bipod is secured to the tube with a shock absorbing collar, with a leather hand projector on the tube immediately below and the gas adjustment dial at the joint with the baseplate. The baseplate is dated 1940 and numbered "8550". NOTE: This weapon is defined by the National Firearms Act as a Destructive Device. This is a fully transferable NFA Class III Firearm currently on a Form 4. You are required to check your state and/or local laws as to whether or not you may own this. This weapon can be transferred to a Class III dealer at no charge. Buyer pays all other transfer fees and stamps.
