Smith and Wesson Transition “Unregistered” revolver, .357 Magnum caliber, Serial #61989. The pistol is in fine overall condition with an 8 3/8” barrel with filed rib, top strap and a King front sight. The pistolretains approximately 95% of its polished blue finish with light wear at the muzzle and dragline on the cylinder. The pistol features bright case coloring on the Humped Back hammer and trigger. The checkered woodmedallion Magna grips are in very good condition showing only storage wear. The bore is very good, the action crips and markings are sharp. The pistol includes a Smith and Wesson factory letter whichconfirms the features and indicates the pistol was shipped to Dave Cook Sporting Goods, Denver, Co., on July 25, 1940. Introduced as a custom manufactured revolver, the .357 Magnums were manufactured to thecustomer’s specifications and stamped in the yoke cut with a registration number.
