Smith and Wesson .455 MK. II Hand Ejector revolver, .455 caliber, Serial #5233. The pistol is in fine overall condition with a 6 ½” barrel. The pistol retains approximately 90-95% of its blue finish with muzzle wear,small scratches and a drag line on the cylinder. The pistol features a five screw frame with muted case hardening on the hammer and trigger. There are multiple British proof marks on the pistol frame. Thecheckered wood medallion grips are in good condition with mars, compressions, flattening of checkering and a lanyard ring in the butt. The bore is dirty but should clean to good, the action is crisp and markings aresharp. The pistol includes a Smith and Wesson factory letter confirming all features indicating that the pistol was shipped to Cowdrey & Co., New York City, exporter to South America on March 30, 1912. Theconsignor’s notes indicate the pistol was an “Officer Purchase”. A desirable Triple Lock manufactured on the eve of World War I factory converted to the .455 MK II cartridge.
