For bidding in this lot is a Smith & Wesson Model 64, Double-Action, stainless steel revolver, chambered in .38 S&W Special. The revolver utilizes a K-Frame, original walnut "medallion" checkered grips, 4" fluted barrel, and a six shot cylinder. The Model 64 was introduced in 1970, and is essentially a Model 10. The Model 64 was brought about to supply a wide range of military and police forces around the country. It was adopted over the Model 10 due to its less corrosive stainless steel finish, instead of blueing. The revolver is marked in numerous places, reading; "Smith & Wesson" on the left side of the barrel, "Mod. 64 - 09996 - S" on the cylinder swing arm, "4 - 5 - 09996 - 2 - S - N - 5" underneath the left grip panel, "Made in U.S.A. - Marcas Registradas - Smith & Wesson - Springfield, MASS" on the right side of the frame, "38 S7W. Special CTG." on the right side of the barrel, Serial Number "D555030" on the bottom of the grip, and showing the "Trade-Mark" Smith & Wesson logo on the right side of the frame. The revolver shows very good condition, and is attributed to early production due to its pinned barrel. This revolver qualifies as a Modern Handgun, and requires FFL Transfer, or NICS Background Check. Serial Number: D555030.
