(Disneyland, c.1976) A concept painting for a window display in the "Sleeping Beauty Castle" walkthrough attraction at Disneyland. This painting was created for the 1977 refurbishment to the attraction which included new animatronic window displays and artwork, and lasted until 2001. This painting is for the third window scene and depicts the King having all of the spinning wheels in the village burned, as the Good Fairies take the newborn Aurora away to safety. The 21.5"x27.5" painting is accomplished in acrylic on sturdy artist's board and was used in the design stages of the final animatronic display. The condition is very good with minor spots of scuffing and edge-wear from use and two small punch marks near the top-edge. A clear cel layer has been taped over the painting for its protection, and appears to be lightly stuck to the surface.
