You are bidding on a Sistema 1927 Argentine Colt .45 ACP 1911A1 Pistol. The pistol features a 5" barrel, blue'd finish, and hard rubber grips. This pistol was manufactured for the Argentine Air Force showing the crest of the air force. The Sistema has an interesting history. Manufactured in Argentina from 1927 to around 1960 with Colt-supplied tools, it had parts interchangeable with any other standard government model, unlike the Ballester-Molina which also comes from Argentina. Along the left side of the slide is a row of letters: “D.G.F.M. (F.M.A.P.).” These stood for Direccion General de Fabricaciones Militares (Fabric Militar de Armas Portatiles). On the right side is “SIST. COLT 11.25 mm MOD. 1927." It is in good condition, showing wear to the bluing at the end of the slide and grips. This is a Curio & Relic firearm. Requires a FFL transfer or NICS background. The serial number is 98270.
