Sharps Meacham conversion of Civil War carbine action to sporting rifle, .45-90 caliber, 28” medium weight octagon barrel, blue and case hardened finish, checkered buttplate with serial #C40851 on tang, original barrel serial #156543 marked out and #45285 added when converted. Note: These numbers can sometimes be researched through Sharps records and find interesting results. The barrel shows “Old Reliable” and Sharps address, .45 caliber marking with 2.3” length, approx. 60-80% toning blue, original sharps rear sight and front sight with globe removed. The action shows traces of case hardening drifting to silvery grayish brown, the stocks are good to very good with some minor dings, mars, normal use. The action is good, the bore shows some erosion at the breech but bright at the end, but at least good and may clean. These Meacham conversions wear also sold on the frontier, just not a top-line Sharps product. Est: $4,500 - $6,500
