Sharps Borchardt Military rifle, .45-70 cal., 32” barrel, blue finish, wood stocks, two barrel bands, sling swivels, #19573. This gun is in overall good condition showing an overall grey patina with scattered areas oferosion and spotty pin prick pitting, very good bore, crisp action, sharp markings including “Old Reliable” trademark on top of barrel, iron cleaning rod present, bore stock is overall very good; butt stock shows wear, nicks, mars and scratches from carry and storage with an old repair to the wrist and several cracks from dryness; this model of Sharps was produced circa 1878 to 1881 as the company was facing liquidation; the military rifles were limited to approx. 7,000 manufactured with many going to foreign countries; a very strong and reliable action which caused many of these guns to be sporterized during the first half of the 20th century.
