Scarce Smith & Wesson Model 1926 .44 Target Transition Double Action Revolver, #S71916, .44 Spec. cal., 6-1/2'' barrel, blue finish, factory checkered diamond walnut grips with bright S&W medallions. Originally shipped June 12, 1947, to Freemore Co., Minn., MN, and returned twice to the factory, once in 1948 and again in 1955, for either repair or refinish. Serial number with star suffix. Revolver additionally features factory adjustable rear sight and high Patridge front sight. Considered quite scarce with less than 50 mfg'd. Factory letter is included. Condition is excellent with just a very light index mark to cylinder. Grips show minor flattening. Action is good, bore is bright. Est.: $5,000-$7,000. (C&R)
