TLS signed “RN,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, June 29, 1984. Letter to historian Herbert Parmet, addressed in Nixon's hand to "Dear Mr. Parmet," in full: "In view of your interest in our foreign policy initiatives between 1969 and 1974, I thought you might like to see a copy of a letter I wrote to Robert Litwak, whose book, incidentally, is well worth reading." In fine condition, with a rusty paperclip impression to the upper left corner. Accompanied by Nixon's enclosure, a photocopy of a two-page letter to historian Robert Litwak sent after reading his 1984 book Detente and the Nixon Doctrine: American Foreign Policy and the Pursuit of Stability, 1969–1976; in it, Nixon offers some insight into his relationship with Kissinger and their co-development of his administration's foreign policy. Parmet would author two books on Nixon: Richard Nixon and His America in 1990, and Richard M. Nixon: An American Enigma in 2008.
