1955. This is the presentation booklet (soft cover) that Reno used as a presentation to the United States Olympic Committee (they would receive hard copies). In 20 pages created in 10 days, this brochure (10.5 x 13") extolled all Reno had to offer. But was we know a last minute competitor was Squaw Valley. They had one chair lift, two rope tows and a fifty room lodge. They also had $1,000,000 that the state of California gave them as a bribe, er, good faith payment. Just imagine the first Miracle on Ice was scheduled for the University of Nevada. More background notes are included to this 'could have been!' State: Nevada City: Reno, Washoe Date: HWAC# 99442
