Lot of 3. 1) 12" by 4", front etched PROPERTY OF NEVADA PACKING COMPANY RENO, NEVADA. Bottom of base etched MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA. Cobalt blue glass with some air bubbles, siphon head intact, broken tube and about one-third bottle of seltzer water inside. Metal siphon head engraved NEVADA PACKING CO. According to Fred Holabird, "Only two Nevada seltzer bottles are not made of clear glass, the Reno Brewing Company and the Nevada Packing Company, both of which are sapphire to cobalt blue." 2) 12" by 4", front etched WIELAND BOTTLING WORKS RENO, NEV. Clear glass, some air bubbles, remnants of label or tape on side, footed base, siphon head and tube intact. Siphon head engraved W. B. W. 3) 12" by 4", front etched WIELAND BOTTLING WORKS RENO NEV. Heidtmann was promoted to manager of the Wieland operation when Coney Island opened in 1909. When Benschuetz died in 1912, Heidtmann bought the company from the family. Heidtmann ran the soda works through at least 1918, but sold out shortly after, and the company was gone by 1920, probably another victim of Prohibition." -59429
