Remington model 1866 .50 caliber center fire rolling block pistol with spur trigger, 8-1/2” standard length barrel, navy marked with experimental brass added triggerguard. One of only approx. 12 known to collectors.Refer pages 109-113, pictured top illustration of 133 Remington Rolling Block Pistols by Jerry Landskron. The barrel shows a naval anchor at the breech and original blue drifting to grey brown patina. Somescattered erosion and pinprick pitting. Frame shows 10-20% case hardening within beginning patina. The cartouche wood stocks are good with some even wear, small chips and losses, wear at the edges, and full outline ofcartouche on left grip. Good action, very good bore.
