Rare Walther Factory Engraved Model TPH Pistol with Matching Box And Instruction Manual
This is a fantastic example of an original Walther factory engraved, TPH pistol in 22LR. The TPH pistol was introduced in the summer of 1968 and was imported for only a few months before being banned from importation, under the 1968 gun control act. These engraved pistols were called the "Deluxe" Model and are very rare today as very few engraved models were ever produced or imported. The slide is marked in two lines; "Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do." over "Walther Banner/ MODEL TPH 22 CAL." and has the traditional German style "Oak Leaf and Acorn" style engraving with a fine punch-dot background, that covers 98% of the slide surface. The right rear section of the slide has a gold colored, raised double oak leaf and acorn, inlay. This specific pistol is even more rare in that it has NO importation marks anywhere. The right side of the slide has the serial number, the Walther factory Antler proof mark, along with the German Eagle "N" firing proof. It has the standard black plastic checkered grips with the "WALTHER" banner on each side. It is complete with the original matching numbered Walther wood-grain box with the original factory label on the end, an original German language instruction manual, warranty card and a blued cleaning rod.
