This is a rare framed autographed studio photograph of Theodore Roosevelt. The photograph itself is 5 1/2" x 4" affixed to a plain colored backing with a plain colored matting. The lower right hand corner of the photograph is embossed "COPYRIGHTED / 1903 / C.M. Bell Photographic CO. / WASHINGTON D.C.". Under the photo is written by the President "with the regards of / Theodore Roosevelt". In the photo Roosevelt is wearing a suit jacket, vest and tie, as well as his wire rim spectacles. The photograph is framed with a black wooden frame with a paper backing which has a label that reads "George Wallis / PICTURE FRAMER / Paintings, Engravings and Old / Prints Restored / 176 State St., Bridgeport, Conn.". Theodore Roosevelt led the famous "Rough Riders" during the Spanish-American War in Cuba and was the 26th President of the United States serving two terms from 1901 to 1908. He passed away January 6, 1919 in his sleep of a heart attack.

Condition: Very fine. The matting and backing are yellowing with age, the photograph is crisp and the frame has a small ding on each corner. The paper backing is flaking on the edges and becoming very fragile. The signature is dark and clear.
