(Disneyland, 1955) An incredible page from a Disney Studio employee scrapbook featuring a pre-opening bumper sticker, (2) opening day tickets, an opening day parking pass, the studio memo offering the tickets, a 1957 invitation to a party at Holidayland, and a 1957 Santa Fe Railroad ticket. Disneyland’s grand opening on July 17th, 1955 was an invitation only affair. Employees and their families, sponsors of the park and other VIPs were invited. The public opening was scheduled for July 18th. In order to control the crowds, as well as prepare for the live televised ceremonies, tickets were color coded with specific arrival times. These silver tickets designated a 2:30 PM arrival time for the guests. The silver parking pass is extremely scarce as most were used and destroyed. As rare as the tickets are, finding a pair, a matching parking pass and studio invitation is unheard of. In addition, the pre-opening bumper sticker is rarely offered for public sale. All items are in good to very good condition and are still mounted on the original scrapbook page. The parking pass shows the most wear from use. The page has been professionally framed to 28”x22”. An incredible piece of Disney history.
