Rare and Desirable Borchardt Model 1893 Semi-Automatic Pistol, with two period holsters, #562, 7.65x25mm Borchardt, 7-1/2'' barrel, blue finish with straw and niter-blue small parts, finely checkered walnut grips with smooth border, right side of frame is marked with ''System Borchardt.Patent.'' markings; top of toggle marked ''Waffenfabric/Loewe/Berlin''; ''(crown)/BUG'' proofmarks to both barrel and upper receiver, with one matching numbered magazine. Includes one original factory holster as removed from the wooden stock (stock not present), and one early 20th Century unmarked brown leather holster with repair. Condition is about fine retaining approx. 85% thinning factory blue. Barrel shows circumferential scratches and light pitting that has been cleaned to left side. Frame with high edgewear; front and backstrap have thinned to approx. 30%. Grips with moderate even flattening to checks with no losses or fractures. Screw slots are good with the exception of the transfer bar to top of frame. Trigger hair return spring is missing (easily fabricated). Action functions as designed, bore is fine. Original holster removed from wooden stock shows approx. 75% loss of its original tanned finish, with some repairs along bottom edge forward of triggerguard, which have since come unraveled; buckle hardware is good. Later non-factory brown leather holster remains in fine condition and appears to be of American mfg. Strap has been replaced and fastened with a hardware store type screw, which would take very little effort to correct. An untouched excellent example of an early successful semi-automatic pistol. Est.: $15,000-$20,000. (Antique)
