Prop MGM percussion cap rifle used in numerous westerns. This non-firing prop measures 46 ½ in. long and is constructed of metal with wooden stock. Features a realistic spring-loaded hammer activated with the pull of the trigger. This style of weapon was used from 1830-1860 and would have been utilized in films set in that era. Engraved on the metal plate on the rear stock “Property M.G.M. Studio 1950 Serial #129”. Obtained from the 1970 MGM auction. Fine condition.
