*S/N 365549, .38 SP, 2 inch barrel, blue finish, 2-piece checkered wood grips, holster. Condition: excellent bore, 70% blue overall, wood grips show wear and use dings, mechanically excellent, holster shows much use. With factory letter and attached property sticker used for deaccession. Included factory letter (laminated) states shipment to the South Dakota Penitentiary, August 20, 1928, “For: G. J. Jameson, Warden".

George T. (not “J") Jameson was warden of the South Dakota State Penitentiary from 1920 to 1933.
