Pair of Continental Turkish/Ottoman Single Shot Saddle Holster Pistols, approx. .60 smoothbore, 7-5/16'' barrels, brown finish, reeded European hardwood stocks, with Turkish half moon and star motif on top barrel flats. Possibly Belgian for the Ottoman market. Condition is fair. All steel surfaces have turned a uniform brown with light surface corrosion overall. Pistols are overall decorated with a floral/scroll engraving pattern. Barrels are slightly swamped octagon, possibly Damascus steel, with two script and one cross key proof. The Flobert style reeded stocks are intact with slight losses to the muzzle ends. Brass furniture is floral scroll engraved with shell motif traps in butts. Both are contained in a purple embroidery covered leather holster with shoulder strap. Holster shows its age with general fading and loss to the cloth and stitching. The leather, while still supple, shows several losses around the edges. Pistols are fitted with an unknown type of bone ramrod. Est.: $800-$1,200. (Antique)
