Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, (16)49Z (rare), with crowned script-a countermark (rare, attributed to Arequipa, Peru) on cross. S-P34; KM-19a; CT-508. 24.33 grams. Full P-Z to left of crudely doubled shield, with bold 8 to right and nearly full crown above, good full cross with clear countermark (Ullian Type F, attributed to Arequipa by Cristina Esteras Martin in Marcas de Plateria Hispanoamericana [1992]), corrosion near edge only, patchy toning and copper color (debased). From the Maravillas Research Collection of Countermarked Potosi Cobs, with Marex certificate and tag #0264. Recovered from: Maravillas, sunk in 1656 off Grand Bahama Island
