American novelist and short story writer (1921–1995) who is best known for her psychological thrillers, which have led to more than two dozen film adaptations. Her first novel, Strangers on a Train, has been adapted for stage and screen numerous times, most notably by Alfred Hitchcock in 1951. Uncommon TLS, one page, 5.75 x 8.25, May 20, 1978. Letter to Gerard Leman, in full: "My favorite books (of mine) are L'Empreint du Faux, and Le Meurtrier (The Blunderer), the latter available in Livre de Poche, and maybe the former is too. A book I don't like is Un Jeu pour les Vivants. I am pleased that you liked Le Journal d'Edith. The German-speaking countries like it also, very much. I thank you for writing to me." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
