Pair of fine quality Germanic flintlock pistols circa mid-18th century signed “G.I. Stavtinger A Wirtzburg” in silver on barrels. The pair measure 14” overall with 8-1/2” barrels of approximately .52 caliber smoothbore. The locks and breech end of barrels are nicely chiseled. The mounts are fancy cast brass with gold gilt. The pair are full stocked to the muzzles in good quality walnut that is nicely raised, carved and molded.The condition is very good and completely untouched with all original flintlock parts. The stocks are also very good plus with just slight scratches, normal aging and an old repair of crack through one (1) wrist whichis almost undetectable. There have been crests removed from the plaques inlaid at wrists. A very nice pair. Est.; $7,500-$15,000
