A VERY RARE PERRY PATENT BREACH LOADING FOWLING GUN IN 12 BORE. THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LOCATE, ALL OTHERS ARE CONFIGURED AS RIFLES. THIS ITEM HAS A 34” BARREL WHICH TRANSITIONS FROM OCTAGONAL TO ROUND.THE ACTION IS UNIQUE IN THAT THERE IS A TUBULAR MAGAZINE LOCATED IN THE BUTT STOCK THAT AUTOMATICALLY FEEDS A PERCUSSION CAP ONTO THE NIPPLE WHEN THE LEVER IS COCKED, THE BREACH IS THEN OPEN AND ACCEPTS A PAPER CARTRIDGE WITH POWDER AND SHOT. THE TOP OF THE BREECH BLOCK IS MARKED “PERRY PATENT ARM CO. / NEWARK N.J.” SERIAL #550 IS MARKED BOTH ON THE TOP OF THE RECEIVER AND BARREL. RECEIVER, LEVER, HAMMER, TANGS, TRIGGER GUARD & BUTT PLATE DISPLAY AN EXHIBITION GRADE FANCY FLORAL ENGRAVING. NOSE CAP IS SILVER, PATINA OVERALL IS A NICE GREY. ORIGINAL STOCKS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION FITTING WELL WITH NO CRACKS. FIREARM IS 52 INCHES OVERALL. THIS ITEMS BEARS A CARTOUCHE MOUNTED ON THE LEFT BUTT STOCK SHOWING OWNERSHIP TO “J. EAGAN MPP (?)
