This is an original WWI Victory Liberty Loan War Bond poster from circa 1918. The poster shows a scene with war ships and merchant mariners. The artwork for the poster was created by Leon Alaric Shafer, an American artist and illustrator in the early 1900's. The top right of the piece reads "They Kept the Sea Lanes Open" and the bottom reads "Invest in the Victory Liberty Loan". The lower right is signed by the artist in the print "L.A. Shafer" and is marked "The W.F. Powers Co. Litho, N.Y.". The WWI poster is in good condition. It measures 29.5" x 39".
