This is a wonderful original Northern Plains Native American Indian beaded pipe bag from the second to third quarter of the 20th century. The bag shows an Indian tanned hide construction with excellent early trade seed beads on both sides. One side shows a four-diamond pattern in pumpkin/butterscotch yellow, sky blue, semi-transparent red, and dark blue with a chalk background and black border. Each outer edge shows a sky blue, pumpkin/butterscotch yellow and dark blue border. The other side shows a cross like powerful pictorial symbol in black and pumpkin/butterscotch yellow with a white background and black border. The top of the bag also shows beadwork. This is truly a wonderfully crafted quality authentic pipe bag show overall good condition with little bead loss. It measures overall 6.75”x29” with long fringe.
