New Deal Studios Display CNC Cutting
This original New Deal Studios wall display was created to showcase the process in which CNC Cutting would be employed on a miniature effects project. The project featured is Night at the Museum: The Battle of the Smithsonian's Smithsonian Air and Space miniature, of Wiley Post's Lockheed Aircraft, "Winnie Mae", that he flew solo around the world. The images and materials featured in this board start with a print of a CG rendering, a CNC cut urethane foam fuselage, wing and cowling section, the same foam shapes but covered in vacuum formed styrene and finally a photographic print of the finished miniature used in the film. All details mounted to lacquered birch. 97" long x 15" tall.
