An antique white metal figural group, 22" tall with wood base, 14" wide, 10" diameter wood base. The white metal piece is a whimsical take off on an undersea world. The urn is carried by a pair of sea going horses who are being managed by the two naked figures in the center, one holding a trident and the other holding what looks like a boat's rudder, both figures are also holding the horse reigns. The handles are formed by leafy vines that cling to the top of the urn with a removable cover with a shell finial. The whole thing is supported by the four dolphins at the base. The piece weighs over 25 pounds. An unusual piece of Victorian whimsy and will get attention wherever you put it. Someone thought it would look good painted white but I think it helped hide the repairs on the horses leg, both horses have one front let that appears to have been repaired, otherwise the piece is in very good condition.
