Navajo Weaving, 6'4 x 3'2
Navajo Weaving. Navajo Weaving
6'4" x 3'2". A very uniquely designed and signed runner, most likely from the Crystal Trading Post area. The central sawtooth band is nicely set between ivory white panels, also with a deep-set sawtooth motif. A touch of color is found in the narrow, emerald green Germantown yarn end stripes. The small arrow near one corner is certainly a weaver's signature. Seldom did the old weaver's of this era ever weave a signature or mark into their textiles. Woven from Native, handspun, long-staple, Churro sheep wool on a wool warp. Circa 1920s.
