You are bidding on a beautiful new old stock Belgium Passive Defense M31 Helmet. These helmets were in service from 1945-1953. They were a direct copy of the French M26 Adrian Helmets. The Adrian Helmet was first issued to the French Army in 1915, during WW1. Many other countries soon adopted the style. The insignia for the Belgium Passive Defense, featured on the front of the helmet, features an unarmed warrior/ knight figure holding in his right hand a large shield bearing the Belgian Coat of Arms. Underneath is a banner struck with a Latin motto: "Impavidum ferient ruinae" (The ruins will strike him without trembling, or stike him fearless.). The insignia is surmounted by the royal crown. The helmet is in excellent condition for its age. It measures 11.75" x 8.75" and 5.58" tall.
