N. Lewis, Troy, N.Y. Marked Percussion Pocket Rifle
The top barrel flat is marked "N. LEWIS MAKER TROY NY", the front sight is a globe and post, with an empty sight slot just in front of it, the rear sight slot is empty. The barrel has been turned round at the muzzle and features two iron ramrod pipes soldered to the bottom of the barrel. The action is similar to a Wesson action, but round in cross section with the steel trigger guard attached. The tiger maple stock has a pistol grip with a checkered grip, fancy brass cap box with an engraved squirrel/star inlay on the left side of the buttstock, toe plate and a crescent shaped buttplate. This also is referred to by collector as a "Buggy Rifle"

Very good. The barrel has an even smooth brown with isolated areas of moderate pitting, the action is a mottled brown. The stock is also very good. Mechanically fine.
