Inc. in Colorado. No. P119, issued for 200 shares to Colonel John Clery on March 26th, 1902. Signed by N.E. Barnes, vice-president, and J. Macleau, secretary. Not cancelled. Very attractive design with an ornate logo and vignette of hills with mine entrance. Printed by W.H. Kistler Stationery Co., Denver. Horizontal and vertical folds, some small separation. Very fine. Branch Office in London. Post Office in Canon City, Fremont County, Colorado. Not in Filer. The company was formed in 1901 by Noah E. Barnes and George Melville Boynton. They purchased 26 mining claims known as the Montezuma Group in the Hayden Creek Mining District near Coaldale. Eventually a town was established, Barnces City. However, it is believed Barnes "salted" the mine with high-grade ore from Cripple Creek in order to get more investors. The company did fail, and Barnes spent years in the Colorado State Penitentiary in Canon City. State: Colorado City: Hayden Creek Mining District Al Adams Collection. HWAC# 58531
